KATHMANDU: Vote counting for the House of Representatives election is ongoing nationwide, with female candidates currently leading in 11 constituencies. In Kathmandu-1, Ranju Darshana Neupane has already secured a victory.
Across the direct category, only 11 percent of candidates were women, yet those from the Rashtriya Swatantra Party are dominating the trends.
Leading female candidates so far include Nisha Dangi (Jhapa-1), Indira Rana Magar (Jhapa-2), Asha Jha (Morang-5), Rubina Acharya (Morang-6), Gauri Kumari (Mahottari-4), Nitima Bhandari (Sarlahi-1), Ashika Tamang (Dhading-1), Toshima Karki (Lalitpur-3), Sobita Gautam (Chitwan-3), Bina Gurung (Kaski-3), and Komal Gyawali (Kailali-1).
With the ongoing RSP wave across the country, most of these female candidates appear likely to secure victories.
