KATHMANDU: Harka Sampang, chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party has lodged a formal complaint with Nepal Police’s Cyber Bureau, alleging that he received death threats through social media.
Sampang filed the written complaint on Monday, stating that a TikTok account under the name “Sunita Khadka” had issued threats not only against his life but also against his family. The complaint further claims that the individual threatened to burn down his house.
In his submission to the Cyber Bureau, Sampang said that he and his family had been subjected to life-threatening messages, along with abusive language and insults across social media platforms such as TikTok and Facebook.
He also accused the individual of spreading misinformation and creating social unrest. Sampang has urged authorities to take strict legal action against those responsible, in accordance with prevailing laws of the Government of Nepal.
