House of Representatives to continue ministry-wise budget discussions today

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives, under the Federal Parliament, is scheduled to meet today at 11:00 AM at Singha Durbar.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the session will focus on ministry-specific discussions regarding various allocations under the Appropriation Bill, 2026.

The agenda includes budget discussions for several key ministries and offices, including the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation; Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Ministry of Infrastructure Development; Ministry of Home Affairs; Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Finance; and the Ministry of Defense.

Additionally, the budgets for the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, National Planning Commission Secretariat, Office of the President, and Office of the Vice President will be deliberated.

During the meeting, lawmakers are expected to table expenditure reduction proposals to cut down budget allocations for these ministries.

Furthermore, the Speaker is scheduled to present a condolence motion mourning the demise of former House of Representatives member Mangal Prasad Gupta.
