KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall, floods, landslides, and scheduled maintenance have disrupted traffic across several major highways in Nepal.

According to the Nepal Police, the Satungal-Chitlang road section is completely blocked due to a landslide at Chandragiri, while the Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping route is entirely closed for a month for road repairs.

Additionally, flooding at Puwa Khola has shut down the Mechi Corridor in Ilam, forcing commuters to use the Mechi Highway as an alternative.

Preemptive safety closures have halted all traffic on the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section of the BP Highway due to flood risks, while the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur and Panchthar, along with the East-West Highway in Mahottari, remain restricted to one-way traffic.
