BUTWAL: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that the Prime Minister’s remarks regarding the Nepal-India border issue are condemnable and objectionable.

Speaking at a Lumbini province-level consultation workshop organized by the Congress Policy, Research, and Training Academy in Rupandehi on Monday, Thapa asserted that the Prime Minister’s statement on a sensitive topic connected to Nepal’s geographical integrity and national security is both condemnable and offensive.

He demanded that the Prime Minister withdraw the irresponsible statement regarding the border and apologize to the Parliament.

Furthermore, Thapa urged the implementation of the National Human Rights Commission’s report on the Gen Z protest, emphasizing that those found guilty must face impartial action.

Noting that an arrogance of numbers is being displayed in Parliament, he advised the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to treat the public mandate as an opportunity to work.

Thapa mentioned that he is seriously committed to moving the party forward in a unified manner.

He also urged everyone to take election results naturally, stating that history shows elections did not bring the Nepali Congress; rather, elections happened because of the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma expressed his disagreement with the Prime Minister’s statement in Parliament regarding the border.

He strongly objected to provisions that grant lawmakers immunity from corruption and other serious criminal offenses.

Sharma expressed concern that because the Nepali Congress has not been strong, serious questions are beginning to arise regarding the country’s nationality.

Emphasizing the need to strengthen the party, Sharma stressed that it is essential to create an environment where everyone can trust one another.
