KATHMANDU: In the ongoing vote counting for the House of Representatives (HoR) election, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has achieved notable success. According to the results announced so far, 104 candidates from the RSP have been elected.
As of 10:50 AM today, the RSP is leading in 21 constituencies. According to the Election Commission, the results of 132 constituencies have already been made public.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has secured victory in 14 constituencies and is leading in three more. The CPN (UML) has won seven constituencies and is ahead in three others.
Similarly, four candidates from the Nepali Communist Party have been elected and the party is leading in three constituencies. The Shram Sanskriti Party has won one seat and is leading in two constituencies. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party and one independent candidate have also won one seat each.
Vote counting for proportional representation system
In the proportional representation (PR) election for the House of Representatives held on March 5, a total of 2,761,421 votes have been counted so far.
According to the Election Commission, the RSP is leading with 1,388,421 votes. The Nepali Congress has received 471,355 votes, while the CPN (UML) has secured 380,932 votes. The Nepali Communist Party has obtained 182,834 votes, the Election Commission stated.
