DHANGADHI: Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah on Wednesday dismissed three CPN (UML) ministers and one minister of state after the coalition partners failed to resolve a dispute over the fiscal year 2026/27 provincial budget.
Those removed are Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives Minister Bir Bahadur Thapa, Internal Affairs and Law Minister Hira Sarki, Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Surendra Pal, and Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Development Nirmala Devi Saud.
The decision came after Chief Minister Shah returned from Kathmandu, where he held high-level talks. Despite several rounds of negotiations, the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) failed to reach a consensus on the budget. The official dismissal letter had not been made public as of Wednesday.
