SANKHUWASABHA: The counting of votes for the House of Representatives election has officially begun in Sankhuwasabha, with the process starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the District Coordination Committee hall, according to Chief Election Officer Raj Kumar Koirala.
The counting began with ballots from Madi Municipality, one of the 10 local units in the district, during the first phase of the tallying process.
Although the counting was originally scheduled to start at 12:15 PM, it was slightly delayed. The Office of the Chief Election Officer stated that the process could only begin on Saturday due to the late arrival of ballot boxes from the Thudam polling center in the remote Bhotkhola Rural Municipality.
The district has a total of 165 polling centers, including one temporary polling center. Of these, ballot boxes from 124 centers were transported via road to the counting venue.
To ensure transparency and security, the vote counting site has been equipped with CCTV cameras and wire fence barriers. Officials also confirmed that all ballot boxes are being kept under strict security inside the District Coordination Committee building during the counting process.
