KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has expressed deep sorrow over the jeep accident in Thawang Rural Municipality–1, Salyap of Rolpa, which claimed the lives of 20 people.
Issuing a condolence statement three days after the incident, the government formally conveyed its grief over the tragedy.
The government has also formed a four-member investigation committee under the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs, coordinated by a Superintendent of Police from the Lumbini Province Police Office, to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
The committee has been instructed to submit its report within three days.
In a statement signed by Joint Secretary Hemraj Aryal, the government expressed condolences to the bereaved families and paid tribute to those who lost their lives. It has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
