KATHMANDU: Scotland defeated Nepal by two runs under the DLS method in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match on Tuesday.

Chasing a revised target of 221 in 39 overs after rain interruption, Nepal reached 218 at the loss of seven wickets in 39 overs, falling just short of victory.

Gulshan Jha top-scored for Nepal with an unbeaten 61 off 35 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes, while Dipendra Singh Airee made 55 off 49 balls.

Captain Rohit Paudel contributed 32 runs.

Nepal had a poor start as Binod Bhandari and Aasif Sheikh departed early, reducing the team to 45/3. Despite a middle-order recovery, regular wickets hurt Nepal’s chase.

For Scotland, Bradley Currie claimed 3 wickets, while Mark Watt took 2 wickets.

Oliver Davidson and Jack Jarvis picked up one wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland posted 243 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
