DAMBULLA: India A unleashed a batting storm in the Tri-Nation A Series final, piling up a commanding 377/9 in 50 overs against Sri Lanka A at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing glory under lights, Sri Lanka A now face a daunting target of 378 runs at a required rate of 7.56 per over in a high-pressure final.

Sri Lanka A won the toss and opted to field, but the decision quickly backfired as India A’s batting lineup launched a full-scale assault. Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 94 off just 29 balls, dismantling the bowling attack with fearless stroke play.

After his dismissal, captain Tilak Varma steadied the innings with a composed 69 off 90 balls, building the platform alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad, who added a solid 40.

The middle order kept the momentum going as Kumar Kushagra contributed 36 and Vipraj Nigam chipped in with 27. In the final surge, Anukul Roy provided a fiery finish, smashing an unbeaten 39 off just 15 balls to push India A well past the 370-run mark.

For Sri Lanka A, the bowlers struggled under pressure but managed key breakthroughs. Wanuja Sahan and Ravindu Fernando picked up two wickets each, while Mohamed Shiraz and Kugathas Mathulan claimed one apiece.

Sri Lanka A now face a steep chase in the final, needing a near-perfect batting performance to overcome India A’s towering total and lift the Tri-Series trophy.
