WASHINGTON DC: US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have electronically signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the war waged by the US and Israel on Iran.

While both nations confirm the agreement is now in effect, US officials stated the deal requires Iran to halt the development or acquisition of nuclear weapons, mandates an end to the conflict across all fronts, and includes the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Despite Lebanon’s inclusion in the scope of the US-Iran accord, Israeli forces have continued their military operations inside Lebanese territory.

In response to the diplomatic breakthrough, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem praised the agreement as a “big victory” and asserted that any future negotiations between Lebanon and Israel must focus exclusively on “mutual security.”
