KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of a moderate risk of flash floods in 31 districts and their surrounding areas today.
According to the bulletin issued by the division on Friday morning, the water levels in small rivers and rivulets flowing through these districts could rise significantly, necessitating necessary precautions.
According to the division, there is a high probability of rising water levels in smaller rivers flowing through Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Purba), Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Tanahun, Lamjung, Kaski, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Surkhet.
Similarly, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Rukum Purba, Jajarkot, Doti, Dadeldhura, Bajhang and Darchula have also been identified as districts facing a moderate risk of flash floods in their local streams and rivers.
The division has strongly urged residents living along riverbanks, in flood-prone lowlands, and near seasonal streams to remain highly vigilant and adopt essential safety measures.
