KATHMANDU: Four parliamentary committees under the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament are holding their respective meetings today, Friday.
The committees convening today include the Finance Committee, the International Relations and Tourism Committee, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and the Women and Social Affairs Committee.
The Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for 1:00 PM at its meeting hall in Singha Durbar. The primary agenda is to conduct preliminary discussions on the bill formulated to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2002.
The Finance Minister, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Secretary of the Ministry of Law, and representatives from Nepal Rastra Bank (the central bank) have been invited to attend.
Meanwhile, the International Relations and Tourism Committee will meet at 11:00 AM. The committee is set to discuss the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Protection) Bill, 2026, alongside subject matter experts, and representatives from the Ministry of Culture, the National Indigenous Nationalities Commission, and UNESCO Nepal.
The Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee has scheduled two separate meetings for the day. The first meeting, which began at 9:30 AM, focuses on reviewing the progress, upcoming action plans, and activities within the forestry and environment sectors with the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
The second meeting, scheduled for 12:00 PM, will review the procurement, import, stock, and distribution status of chemical fertilizers, as well as the supply strategy for the upcoming season.
Additionally, the Women and Social Affairs Committee is meeting at 11:00 AM.
The agenda for this meeting involves detailed discussions regarding the performance, operations, and progress of the National Inclusion Commission.
