KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is hosting a mass demonstration in Balkhu, Kathmandu at 11:30 today.

Initially, the party had planned to hold the event at Bhrikutimandap, but was forced to change the location after the administration refused permission, citing security concerns.

RPP had requested approval for a Bagmati Province-level demonstration and general meeting at Bhrikutimandap on April 8, but the authorities suggested Balkhu or Sifal as alternative venues.

RPP Spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha confirmed the change of venue and urged party members and supporters to participate with discipline and strategy.

“The demonstration and general meeting scheduled for today will take place in Balkhu, as permission was denied for Bhrikutimandap,” Shrestha stated. “The government’s response shows that our movement is gaining strength. Let us continue to advance it step by step and in an organized manner.”
