KATHMANDU: The current weather in Nepal is being influenced by westerly and local wind systems, along with some moisture-laden air entering from the Arabian Sea.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, presently, hilly regions across the country are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy skies, while other areas remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.
Later today, hilly areas—including those in Koshi Province—are expected to stay partly to generally cloudy, with the rest of the country remaining mostly clear to partly cloudy.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is possible at several locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, and at a few spots in other hilly areas. High hills and mountainous areas may also see brief rain and light snowfall.
Tonight, skies over the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces will remain partly cloudy, while other parts of the country will see mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions.
There is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in isolated parts of these provinces, and occasional snowfall in some high-altitude areas.
The Division has urged the public to take precautions as intermittent rainfall with lightning may occur, particularly in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.
