KATHMANDU: The film Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 is said to share a real urban story, according to its cast and director. Director Dipendra K. Khanal, actor Khagendra Lamichhane, and actress Keki Adhikari emphasized that the film is based on a uniquely urban narrative. Actor Khagendra believed that tales don’t necessarily have to be rural-centric every time, urban tales can be rooted and meaningful as well.

Director Dipendra K. Khanal explained that a house is not merely a physical structure built in a limited area; it requires emotions and relationships to be turned into a home. He added that Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 has its own unique story and form. Although some scenes were filmed in Pashupati, the main plot is not centered there, he clarified.

Actress Keki Adhikari addressed the common notion that “organic stories” only refer to village settings, calling it a misconception. She further added that the soul of Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 is its director and writer. Since the narrative is closely linked to literature and written by Buddhi Sagar along with a director who has been known for creating popular narratives the film has compelling appeal, she added.

The film explores how the personal stories of people who live under the same roof connect to a larger story, which was one of the most significant things about the film to her.
