KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been filed against economist Dr. Bishwo Paudel in the Supreme Court, claiming that his potential appointment as the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank violates the Nepal Rastra Bank Act.

The petition argues that appointing a political party member to the post of Governor is against the provisions of the Act.

The petition asserts that a direct appointment from a political party contradicts the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 (2002).
