KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has officially resumed regular domestic flights with both of its Twin Otter aircraft, which had been grounded for an extended period, causing disruptions for passengers, particularly in remote regions.
NAC spokesperson Subas Dangi confirmed that the aircraft with call signs 9N-ABT and 9N-ABU are now fully operational. New engines have been installed on both planes, and maintenance has been completed according to the standards set by regulatory authorities and the aircraft manufacturer,” Dangi said.
The aircraft returned to scheduled services on May 12 after successfully completing all necessary regulatory testsNAC expressed confidence in a press release that the resumption of these flights will provide affordable and accessible air travel to people in remote areas.
Each Twin Otter aircraft is expected to operate at least four flights daily, significantly enhancing the efficiency and reach of domestic air services.
