SAPTARI: A collision between a motorcycle and a brick-laden tractor on Saturday in Malekhpur, Rajgadh Rural Municipality-5 of Saptari, has left two dead and one seriously injured.

The incident occurred along the Hulaki road section when a motorcycle carrying three people collided head-on with the tractor. According to police, two of the riders died—one en route to the hospital and the other while receiving treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj.

The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Santosh Yadav, son of Birendra Yadav, and 22-year-old Sagar Mandal, son of Bihari Mandal. Both were residents of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 in Saptari, police said.

The tractor, registered under number Sa 1 Ta 5442, was headed toward Rajbiraj from Pathargadha when it struck the oncoming motorcycle (MPR 02-019 Pa 9626). Following the crash, the tractor driver fled the scene and remains at large.

The injured, 18-year-old Dhananjay Yadav, also from Bishnupur-1, has been referred to Biratnagar for advanced treatment, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.
