Three dead, two injured as jeep plunges off Madi bridge

TANAHUN: A jeep fell off the Madi bridge near Damauli in Tanahun, resulting in three fatalities and two injuries.

The vehicle (registration Ga 2 Cha 5760), traveling from Damauli to Chapaghat, crashed into the river around 11:30 pm on Saturday after breaking the bridge railing, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun.

The victims have been identified as Kushal Magar, Prabin Magar, and Kumar Magar, residents of Byas Municipality-5. The two injured drivers, Rohit Gutta and Dhiraj Raunihar, sustained serious injuries. Raunihar was transferred to Pokhara for advanced treatment following initial care, while Gutta is being treated at Damauli Hospital.

There were five passengers in the jeep at the time. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the accident is underway.
