KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division reports that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, along with a partial influx of moisture from the Bay of Bengal.

The weather is partly to generally cloudy across the hilly regions of the country. In contrast, other areas remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.

Light rain accompanied by lightning has been observed at one or two places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

By this afternoon, hilly regions including parts of Lumbini will experience partly to generally cloudy skies. The rest of the country is expected to remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall with lightning in several locations across the hilly regions. Elsewhere, one or two places may also experience light rain and thunder.

Light rain mixed with snowfall is possible at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

Tonight, light to moderate rainfall with lightning is expected at a few locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Other regions may experience isolated rain and thunder.

Light rain mixed with snowfall may also occur at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions during the night.
