KATHMANDU: Opposition parties have convened a meeting to discuss the visit visa scandal, with a unified demand for the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
According to a Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker, the meeting is currently underway at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar.
The gathering of opposition leaders is being held ahead of Wednesday’s scheduled parliamentary session. The meeting is being led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal, leader of the main opposition party.
Notable participants in the meeting include former Prime Minister and Unified Socialist Party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, acting parliamentary party leader of RSP Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, RSP vice president Swarnim Wagle, Unified Socialist Chief Whip Metmani Chaudhary, and Prabhu Sah from the Aam Janata Party, among others.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 11 AM has not been able to convene.
