BIRATNAGAR: The Mulghat-Bhedetar section of the Koshi Highway, which had been obstructed due to flood damage, has now been reopened.

According to Police Inspector Dhruba Narayan Shrestha of the District Police Office, Dhankuta, a diversion has been constructed at the spot where the Leuti River had washed away the road, enabling one-way traffic.

With this, the road that had remained blocked since early Saturday has resumed operation.

Hundreds of vehicles that had been stranded since morning have now resumed their journey.

The Leuti River had flooded on Saturday morning, sweeping away a portion of the road and causing a transport disruption along the Koshi Highway.
