KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire is holding talks with chief whips of parties represented in the House of Representatives, along with Law Minister Ajay Chaurasiya, at the Parliament building in New Baneshwar.
The discussion comes ahead of today’s scheduled House session, which remains stalled due to opposition protests. Opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), are demanding a high-level judicial or parliamentary committee to probe the visit visa scandal.
They have also called for Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak’s resignation. The ruling coalition has so far rejected the demand, prompting the opposition to obstruct House proceedings.
Tuesday’s meetings were postponed twice without convening.
