KATHMANDU: The opposition Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has reiterated its demand for the formation of a high-level or judicial investigation committee to probe the visit visa scandal.
Speaking at the outset of Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting, during time allocated by Speaker Devraj Ghimire, RSP lawmaker Chanda Bhandari Karki strongly urged the formation of such a committee.
The RSP has been pushing for an investigation into the visit visa controversy in Parliament over the past few days. Following Karki’s remarks, Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire addressed the House and objected to the blue ribbon worn by RSP lawmakers around their necks. He insisted that lawmakers should maintain decorum by wearing proper attire in Parliament.
The House meeting was then adjourned for 30 minutes.
