KATHMANDU: According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall tonight in some places across the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

The division reported that the highest rainfall during the day today was recorded at Chatara in Sunsari.

Currently, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as one or two locations in Gandaki province.

The division also stated that the country’s mountainous and hilly regions will remain generally cloudy on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, heavy rain is expected at one or two places in the hilly regions of Karnali province, as well as the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Furthermore, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Terai region of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at scattered locations in the Terai region of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
