KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon activity will remain relatively subdued across Nepal from Sunday through Tuesday, with heavy rainfall unlikely except in isolated areas.

On Sunday, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected across high-altitude and hilly regions, with weather systems becoming more active at night in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, where one or two locations could see heavy rainfall.

On Monday, moderate rain will cover the hilly and Terai belts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

By Tuesday, rainfall is expected to intensify across the hilly and Terai regions of most provinces—including Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim—prompting the department to advise the public to stay alert for potential heavy downpours.
