KATHMANDU: At least three people lost their lives and 19 others were injured as 49 monsoon-related disaster incidents swept across Nepal over the past 24 hours.

According to the daily bulletin released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), the number of disaster-affected districts has risen to 37.

The recorded incidents include 15 snakebites, 12 landslides, 6 fires, 5 forest fires, 2 floods, 2 lightning strikes, and 2 animal attacks.

The disasters have caused estimated financial losses of around Rs 232.23 million. In addition, six roadways remain obstructed and seven livestock were killed.

The NDRRMA confirmed that rescue and relief operations are actively underway in the affected regions in coordination with security personnel and local government bodies.

So far, 19 individuals have been rescued, with 1,756 vehicles deployed for emergency operations.
