TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday vowed to punish “the Zionist enemy” in his first public remarks since the United States joined Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

The escalating conflict has drawn international concern, with Iran reporting more than 400 deaths and over 3,000 injuries since Israel launched its offensive on June 13. In response, Iranian missile and drone attacks have killed at least 24 people in Israel.

U.S. President Donald Trump added to the tensions with a statement suggesting possible regime change in Tehran. “If the current Iranian regime is unable to make Iran great again, why wouldn’t there be a regime change?” Trump said.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the joint U.S.-Israeli operation and warned of consequences. “The Americans must receive a response to their aggression,” he said, hinting at further escalation.

Meanwhile, the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog said there was no indication of increased off-site radiation levels following U.S. strikes on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities.
