NEPSE sees slight decline; turnover exceeds Rs 5.76 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight decline today, dropping by 0.22 points to settle at 2,653.53 points.

According to NEPSE, a total of 13,818,559 shares from 316 companies were traded in 62,755 transactions, resulting in a total turnover of approximately Rs 5.76 billion.

In today’s trading, sub-indices of Banking (+0.44%), Investment (+0.27%), Manufacturing & Processing (+0.42%), Microfinance (+0.19%), and Mutual Funds (+0.27%) increased. However, all other sector indices declined.

The Development Bank sector dropped by 0.42%, Finance by 0.74%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.00%, Hydropower by 0.44%, Life Insurance by 0.12%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.31%, Trading by 0.09%, and the others group by 0.11%.

The share price of Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Ltd. saw the highest gain of 8.01%, while the biggest loser was NIC Asia Debenture 2085/86, which fell by 5.17%.

In terms of transaction volume, Butwal Power Company Ltd. led with trades worth approximately Rs 276.59 million, while Shivashree Hydropower Ltd. topped in the number of shares traded, with 600,966 shares changing hands.
