KATHMANDU: As Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli took the rostrum to address the House of Representatives, lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) walked out in protest.

RSP lawmakers, who had earlier surrounded the well of the House demanding the resignation of the Home Minister and the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee regarding the ongoing visit visa controversy, exited the chamber as the Prime Minister began his remarks.

Despite mounting pressure, the government has not agreed to the opposition’s demand to form an investigation committee. Prior to the RSP walkout, lawmakers from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had already left the meeting.

At the time of the protest, Prime Minister Oli was informing the House about his recent official visit to Spain.
