Two teenagers die suspiciously in Jhapa, police launch investigation

JHAPA: Police have begun a detailed investigation after the suspicious deaths of two teenagers in Jhapa.

Nineteen-year-old Roman Thapa and fifteen-year-old Aditya Tamang, residents of Shivasatakshhi Municipality-9, reportedly died following a violent assault by their peers.

The two boys were allegedly injured during a physical altercation with friends about a week ago. However, neither of them informed their families about the incident.

Both sustained injuries during the fight and later died while undergoing treatment — Thapa passed away on Saturday, while Tamang died on Wednesday. The incident of assault occurred on June 25.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, six individuals under the age of 16 have been taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the assault.

Superintendent of Police Rajan Limbu stated that the arrests were made after a complaint was lodged at the Jhiljhile Area Police Office regarding the incident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
