KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel has praised the growing craze for cricket among Nepalis and the recent successes achieved by Nepali players.

Congratulating the Nepali team that won the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup at a special event held at Sheetal Niwas, the President stated that the team’s success in cricket is a result of the players’ dedication, passion, and hard work.

He highlighted that by winning the title in the final match against Singapore, the Nepali U-16 team has enhanced the nation’s reputation and brought pride and prestige to Nepal and its people.

President Paudel emphasized that if traditional games can be refined, developed, and expanded to gain inclusion in international tournaments, they too can help elevate the country’s image globally.

He further stressed the need to focus on increasing sports infrastructure and expanding training and competitions within the country in order to produce skilled athletes capable of competing both nationally and internationally.
