KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) continued their protest in the House of Representatives on Monday, boycotting the session and demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the ongoing visit visa scandal.

The two parties have been demanding an independent investigation committee since Jestha 13 (May 27), criticizing the government’s handling of the issue.

RSP lawmakers stood in front of the rostrum during today’s meeting before walking out, while RPP chose to boycott the session altogether.

Both parties have rejected the government-formed investigation panel, calling it inadequate and lacking credibility.
They insist that only a credible and impartial probe will ensure accountability in the scandal involving unauthorized issuance of visit visas under ministerial influence.

Despite the disruption, today’s House meeting is expected to include an address from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
