KATHMANDU: Talks between protesting doctors and three government ministers have been temporarily suspended and are scheduled to resume at 6 p.m. today.

The meeting involves representatives from the Nepal Medical Association (NMA), which is spearheading the nationwide protest, and Ministers Damodar Bhandari (Industry, Commerce and Supplies), Ajaya Chaurasiya (Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs), and Pradeep Poudel (Health and Population).

The NMA delegation includes members from various professional organizations, including the Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges, Nepal Dental Association, and the Nursing Association of Nepal.

Doctors across Nepal have been protesting a recent Consumer Court verdict, suspending all non-emergency medical services in both public and private hospitals since Monday.

Meanwhile, the NMA has also announced a symbolic protest this evening, during which doctors will return their licenses to the Nepal Medical Council.
