KATHMANDU: A man has died, and another person was injured in a road accident along the Prithvi Highway at Amreni, Vyas Municipality–1 in Tanahun district this afternoon.

According to police, a scooter (registration number Ga 22 Pa 3989) heading from Dumre to Damauli crashed into a parked mini truck (Ba 1 Ka 8714) on the left side of the road.

The scooter rider, identified as Sagar Neupane, aged approximately 25–30 and a resident of Chhirkane, Vyas Municipality–12, died in the accident, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa of the District Police Office, Tanahun.

A passenger on the scooter, 60-year-old Krishnamaya Pant from the same locality, was injured in the crash.

Neupane was taken to Ratnahari Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Pant has been referred to Gandaki Medical Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment.
