Indian truck falls into Trishuli River, driver, helper injured

CHITWAN: A mini truck from India fell into the Trishuli River from Simaltal on the Narayangadh-Muglin road.

The accident occurred on Tuesday night at 10:25 PM in Bharatpur Metropolitan City–29, Simaltal.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the Chitwan District Police Office, the Indian mini truck (UP 32 JETN 7883) was carrying fruits from India to Kathmandu when it lost control and veered off the road, falling about 80 meters down near the banks of the Trishuli River.

The truck driver, 21-year-old Aashik Yadav, and the 20-year-old helper, Uttar Singh, both from Lucknow, India, were injured in the accident.

They are currently undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable, police said.
