KATHMANDU: Five committees of the Federal Parliament are convening today to deliberate on various legislative matters and review reports, as per their scheduled agenda.
The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee will hold discussions with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers concerning Nepal’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report, according to committee secretary Ramhari Thapa.
The Women and Social Affairs Committee is set to review the Annual Report of the Madhesi Commission for the fiscal year 2080/81.
Similarly, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will discuss the guiding principles of the proposed Media Council Bill.
In another session, the Legislative Management Committee will conduct a clause-wise discussion on the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081.
Meanwhile, the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will examine the Report on National Parks.
