KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives is set to take place today at 1:00 PM at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the key agenda includes a direct question-and-answer session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The Prime Minister is expected to respond to questions raised by lawmakers on various national issues.
Also during the meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will present a proposal for consideration of the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081, which was passed by the National Assembly and now awaits deliberation in the lower house.
In addition, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari will table a proposal for a general discussion on the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Concessions in the Fisheries Industry.
Alongside the full House meeting, three parliamentary committees are scheduled to meet today as well.
The Public Accounts Committee will discuss complaints related to the construction of the Jagadulla Hydropower Project.
It will also consider setting a date for a joint meeting with the Secretary of the Government of Nepal.
The Legislative Management Committee will hold a clause-wise discussion on the Water Resources Bill, 2081.
Meanwhile, the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee will review the implementation of national pride projects under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
The committee will assess current challenges, evaluate efforts made so far to address them, and present its expectations moving forward.
