HETAUDA: Voting to elect the leader of the Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party will take place on Wednesday.
According to Election Committee Coordinator Harisharan Shrestha, the schedule for publishing the voter list, filing claims and objections, candidate nominations, publication of the preliminary list, and withdrawal of candidacies is set till 12 PM today.
The final list of candidates will be published at 1 PM, and voting is scheduled from 2 PM to 3 PM.
The voting will take place at the Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party office in Hetauda.
Shrestha informed that vote counting will begin immediately after voting ends, and the results will be made public today itself.
Last Friday, a no-confidence motion was registered against Bahadur Singh Lama, the party’s parliamentary leader who is also the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.
In the division of votes held on Tuesday, Lama received 15 votes in favor and 22 against. As he was in the minority, Lama lost his position as the party’s leader.
