KATHMANDU: Four committees of the Federal Parliament are meeting today to deliberate on crucial bills and review the implementation of national projects.
The Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee is scheduled to meet at 12:30 PM to hold discussions on the ‘Land-Related Bill, 2082.’
Representatives from federal and provincial ministries, the Municipal Association of Nepal, the National Federation of Rural Municipalities, and experts in land, law, and forestry sectors will participate in the meeting.
Similarly, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will convene at 2:30 PM to conduct a clause-wise discussion on the ‘Media Council Bill, 2080.’
The bill has been under public scrutiny for its potential impact on media regulation and press freedom.
At 1:00 PM, the Legislation Management Committee will meet to review the ‘Water Resources Bill, 2081.’
The session will focus on the legal and policy framework concerning the management and utilization of water resources in Nepal.
Earlier in the day, at 11:00 AM, the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee began its meeting to assess the progress of national pride projects overseen by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.
The committee is reviewing challenges, achievements, and government response to ongoing infrastructure projects considered of national importance.
