SINDHULI: Two people were killed and three others injured after a tree fell on a temporary shelter in Bastipur, Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality-1 of Sindhuli district.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon following a landslide triggered by continuous rainfall.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surya Prakash Subedi of the District Police Office, a sal tree collapsed onto the shelter, killing 9-year-old Sarki Thing and 16-year-old Shanta Gole on the spot.

The injured have been identified as 14-year-old Sirjana Maya, 15-year-old Sandhya Bholan, and 7-year-old Sushil Thing.

All three have been referred to Hetauda Hospital for treatment, police said.
