RSP Secretariat meeting scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called a Secretariat meeting for today, August 5, at 3 PM.

The meeting will be held at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu.

According to the party, the meeting will primarily focus on reviewing current political developments and internal party activities.

Updates from the recent parliamentary party meeting held in Rupandehi, preparations for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3, and progress reports from the Sudurpaschim Province Problem-Resolution Taskforce are on the agenda.

Additionally, the Secretariat will deliberate on several organizational matters. These include approving the interpretation of the party statute for the purpose of the Disciplinary Commission, registering the party at the Election Commission for participation in the Rupandehi by-election, and submitting applications related to the removal of names from the proportional representation list of the House of Representatives.

The meeting will also discuss the organization of a “Future Leaders Summit” to mark International Youth Day.

Several miscellaneous issues are also listed in the agenda, such as extending the tenure of the committee investigating the Visit Visa case, finalizing the schedule and agenda for the Central Committee meeting, formation of strategic groups, appointment of department heads, launching a campaign to pressure authorities for ensuring voting rights to Nepali citizens living abroad, and intensifying a signature campaign against political retaliation faced by party president Rabi Lamichhane.
