SEOUL: The Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang has identified robotics as a key growth area for South Korea, highlighting the country’s strong manufacturing capabilities and technological expertise as drivers of future innovation.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in South Korea from Taiwan on Friday, Huang said the country is well-positioned to become a major player in the robotics sector, which he believes will emerge as one of its most significant industries in the years ahead.
“Korea has many promising sectors for investment, but robotics stands out as the next major opportunity,” Huang said.
During his visit, Huang is scheduled to hold meetings with senior executives from some of South Korea’s largest conglomerates and technology firms, including Hyundai, LG, SK Group, Samsung, and Naver. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, and robotics technologies.
Huang also signaled deeper collaboration between Nvidia and South Korean manufacturers, particularly in the development and deployment of AI-powered robotics solutions.
He noted that South Korea’s position as a global manufacturing hub creates significant opportunities to integrate emerging technologies such as physical AI and intelligent robotics into industrial operations.
According to Huang, the semiconductor industry is also expected to undergo a major transformation as automation and AI become increasingly central to chip production processes. He said this shift would open new avenues for partnerships between Nvidia and South Korea’s semiconductor companies.
The Nvidia chief further hinted at additional developments related to the company’s engagements in South Korea, suggesting that more announcements could follow during his visit.
