KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will launch a campaign urging the government to grant voting rights to Nepali citizens living overseas.

Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the decision was made at the central committee meeting held on Friday.

The meeting resolved to expand the public signature campaign in support of party president Rabi Lamichhane, which the RSP says responds to politically motivated actions against him. The drive will be integrated into all ongoing party activities.

The party decided to reinstate Ishramulla Miya, a founding central committee member who had resigned after becoming chair of the Hajj Committee, back into the central committee.

The RSP will form a strategic group to oversee planned initiatives and mobilize members from the ward level to the federal level to strengthen the party’s organizational base.
