KATHMANDU: Bamdev Gautam, the third-ranking leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), visited senior leader Jhalanath Khanal at his residence in Dallu on Saturday.

The meeting comes at a time when tensions have been escalating between party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and Khanal.

According to Gautam’s secretariat, the two leaders are holding discussions on contemporary political issues.

“The meeting should be seen in the context of the past cordial relations between Comrade Jhalanath Khanal and Comrade Bamdev Gautam, who have long been political comrades,” the secretariat noted.
