KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has reported that the monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location.

According to the division, most of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces, along with the country’s hilly regions, are experiencing generally cloudy weather, while other areas remain partly cloudy.

Light to moderate rainfall is occurring at a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as at one or two locations in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide.There is a possibility of moderate rainfall at some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and other hilly regions, as well as at a few locations in the Tarai.

One or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces may experience heavy rainfall. Tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces along with other hilly regions, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy.

Moderate rainfall is likely at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in the remaining provinces.

One or two locations in the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces may experience heavy rainfall.

Since heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, the division has requested the public to take necessary precautions as it could affect daily life, health, road transport, and air services.
