KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), has claimed that public trust in his party is once again on the rise.
Addressing the party’s Karnali Province meeting virtually, Prachanda said recent elections had clearly shown that Maoist-aligned candidates were winning even when the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML joined forces, indicating renewed public confidence in the Maoist Centre. He pointed to victories in local governments, student unions, the Federation of Nepali Journalists, and most recently the Nepal Mountaineering Association, describing them as symbols of growing trust.
“People’s hopes and confidence in our party and organization are increasing. Even when Congress and UML unite against us, we have secured victories in many places,” he stated.
Prachanda further claimed that the Maoist Centre’s rising popularity has left “reactionaries and brokers terrified.”
He alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to create internal disputes but emphasized that the party’s Standing Committee had already committed to ending factionalism, anarchy, and indiscipline to strengthen unity.
