KATHMANDU: The northern areas of the Kathmandu Valley have experienced heavy rainfall over the past three hours.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, in the last 12 hours, Budhanilkantha recorded 55 mm of rain, Kapan 49.8 mm, Sundarijal 47.6 mm, and Dhap 23.2 mm, with most of it falling in the past hour.
The downpour has caused waterlogging in parts of Kapan and Sirjana Nagar in Bhaktapur.
In Budhanilkantha alone, 53.2 mm of rainfall was recorded in the last six hours.
The Meteorological Department also reported rainfall in other parts of the country, with 60 mm recorded in Dharan, 66 mm in Sanishchare, Jhapa, and just 1.8 mm in Surunga, highlighting the variation in rainfall across different regions.
